Frequently asked questions about ENGWE in Spain
Warranty, battery and range, prices, shipping and returns, stores and workshop: direct answers for buying and using an ENGWE in Spain. When a topic needs context, we link to the guide that covers it in full.
01 · Riding in Spain
Before you ride your ENGWE
01What do I need to check before riding an ENGWE on the road?
Check three legal criteria: maximum continuous rated power less than or equal to 250 W; the motor assists only while you pedal; assistance reduces and cuts off before 25 km/h (Regulation (EU) 168/2013). Meet all three and it rides as a pedal-assist bicycle, outside the L categories.
Before buying, check the CE marking and the model’s EU declaration of conformity. Complete guide to Spanish e-bike rules.
02What paperwork and what insurance does the law require for an ENGWE?
None, if it meets the three criteria. An ENGWE with up to 250 W rated power, pedal-only assistance and cut-off before 25 km/h is legally a bicycle: no licence, no number plate, no roadworthiness test.
Insurance is not compulsory either — Law 5/2025 expressly excludes pedal-assist bicycles —, and even so a voluntary policy can be worthwhile if you ride daily.
02 · Understanding the brand
The ENGWE brand and how long it lasts
03Is ENGWE a Chinese brand?
Yes, ENGWE is a brand of Chinese origin. The trade mark is registered with the EUIPO (No. 018644327, class 12, electric bicycles) to Shenzhen ENGWE Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., based in Shenzhen.
The company selling to you and answering for it in Spain is ENGWE Spain, the trade name of Electric Mobile S.L. (CIF B10893584): a three-year seller guarantee and our own workshop in Valencia and Barcelona.
04Are ENGWE e-bikes any good, and what do the reviews say?
Yes. All 24 e-bikes in the catalogue arrive in European configuration (250 W rated, assistance up to 25 km/h) and deliver the brand’s core promise: a lot of equipment for the price. In an independent test, the French magazine Comment Ça Marche measured a real 80 km on a single charge on the P275 SE.
For our part: our own store and workshop in Valencia and Barcelona — customer reviews on Google give the Valencia store a 4.6 average — and a three-year legal guarantee with every purchase. If you value equipment for the money and in-person service, ENGWE is one of the strongest options on the Spanish market. Our role as distributor.
05Is there a reliable top 5 of the best e-bike brands?
No: no general ranking knows how much you weigh, what hills you climb or where you will store the bike. That is why we do not publish a top 5 — we prefer criteria you can verify with the spec sheet in front of you: motor type (hub or mid-drive), real weight, size range, and who stands behind batteries and spare parts.
With ENGWE Spain, that last criterion works in your favour: original spare parts and our own workshop in Valencia and Barcelona. We are ENGWE’s authorised distributor: bear in mind that we are an interested party. Our step-by-step selection process.
06How long does an ENGWE e-bike last?
A well-assembled, well-serviced e-bike lasts for many years: the frame and motor usually outlive the battery, and replacing the battery is not the end of the bike: original replacement batteries are available directly from our online store. Our per-component commercial warranty gives you the minimum reference — up to 36 months on the frame and structural parts.
On top of that, by law the producer must guarantee spare parts and technical service for at least ten years after the model leaves production (Art. 127 bis TRLGDCU). With normal wear replacements (tyres, pads, chain) and periodic tune-ups at our workshop, your ENGWE is built to stay with you for a long time. Basic maintenance guide.
03 · Choosing with evidence
Range, models and budget
07What range and charging time does an ENGWE give?
Declared catalogue ranges run from 75 km (M20) to 160 km on a single battery (L20 3.0 Pro), and up to 350 km with a dual battery (LE20). These are manufacturer figures: rider weight, hills, temperature and assist level rule the real result.
A full charge takes 1.5 to 8 hours depending on model and charger, with 5-7 hours as the typical case. The battery is covered for 12 months by the commercial warranty, including capacity dropping below 60 %. Official batteries and chargers.
08Which ENGWE model should I choose?
Choose by use: the ZIP (€1,099) for city riding; the L20 3.0 Pro (€1,699) for range and comfort; the E26 3.0 Pro (€1,899) if you prefer a non-folding frame with a removable 720 Wh battery. Prices include VAT; check availability and current offers on each product page.
Before deciding, check the size, the bike’s weight, battery capacity and where you will store it; if you plan to fold it daily, start with the folding formats. Model comparison table.
09How much does an ENGWE e-bike cost in Spain?
Among available e-bikes, from €999 to €1,999 including VAT: entry range €999-1,199, mid range €1,299-1,499 and top range €1,699-1,999. The entry point is the P275 SE: €999 on promotion (list price €1,499).
The catalogue always takes precedence over any summary: up-to-date prices for every e-bike. There are also public grants for electric bikes in Spain, depending on each administration’s call for applications.
10Which is better, Fiido or ENGWE?
The brand matters less than who answers for the bike after purchase. With ENGWE Spain you get the three-year ENGWE Spain guarantee, handled by us as your seller, our own store and workshop in Valencia and Barcelona, original spare parts, and the chance to test-ride before you buy.
We are ENGWE’s authorised distributor and do not sell Fiido, so we won’t score the competitor: compare the spec sheets and, above all, who will look after you in Spain when you need it. That is home ground for us.
04 · After purchase
Warranty, authenticity and after-sales
11What guarantee and warranty does an ENGWE e-bike have in Spain?
ENGWE Spain guarantee: three years, handled by us. Bought in our stores or at engwespain.es (Electric Mobile S.L.), your bike is covered for three years from delivery, with the presumption in your favour for the first two (Art. 120 TRLGDCU).
The commercial warranty we offer is additional and varies by component: up to 36 months on the frame and other structural parts (fork, handlebar, folding tubes and seatpost), with shorter terms on the rest, including the battery (12 months, covering capacity falling below 60 %); consumables and natural wear are excluded — full table in our Terms (§7.2). It never replaces or limits your three legal years, and corrective measures are free of charge: shipping, transport, labour and materials.
We handle it ourselves, from our stores: request warranty service.
12Is ENGWE Spain an authorised dealer?
Yes. ENGWE Spain is the trade name of Electric Mobile S.L. (CIF B10893584), with authorisation number ENGWE-ES-018 and a store and workshop in Valencia and Barcelona.
What sits behind the sale matters: if you buy on a marketplace or from a parallel importer, the seller you bought from must handle the guarantee. Buy from us and we answer as your seller for three years and handle the warranty from our own stores, with original spare parts. ENGWE Spain company page.
13How do shipping and returns work if I buy online?
You have 30 calendar days to return it from delivery: the law requires 14 and ENGWE Spain extends them to 30, with no need to justify the return. We refund the full amount, including standard shipping, within a maximum of 14 days from when you notify your withdrawal; we may withhold the refund until we receive the product or proof of return shipment (Art. 107 TRLGDCU). Return transport is at your cost.
Shipping is free under the current conditions and, for products in stock, we ship from our warehouse in Spain with estimated delivery times. How to process a return.
